Project Overview

About This Project

A meticulous restoration of a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse in Belgravia, combining period-sensitive conservation with discreet modern engineering. The six-storey property now features a basement cinema, wine cellar, lift, and a stunning light-filled rear extension.

The Challenge

Listed building consent required that every original cornice, fireplace, and joinery detail be preserved or faithfully replicated. The rear extension had to be invisible from the street, and all services had to be threaded through existing fabric without compromising heritage features.

Our Solution

Our conservation team laser-scanned the entire building to create a 3D BIM model, mapping every heritage element before works began. Modern services were concealed within new joinery and floor cavities. The rear extension used a frameless glass design that recedes visually from the historic facade.

The Result

The project received a Georgian Group Award for Best Restoration of a Townhouse in 2024. The property's value increased by 80% post-restoration, and it was featured in The World of Interiors. The client's family moved in on schedule for Christmas.
